飯舘村の皆さん、歓迎ありがとう！

合唱団「とも」はかねてから希望していた飯舘村の訪問を10月11日についに実現しました。　村民の皆さんの暖かい歓迎に本当に感謝します。一緒にミニコンサートを盛り上げていただきました。　9.11風の環コンサートで寄せられた義援金、そして菅野村長にNYデューク・エリントン小学校の子供たちが被災地の為に詠んでくれた俳句のアルバムを手渡すことができました。重責を果たしホッとしました。　貴重なそして本当に楽しいひと時をありがとうございました。　逆境に負けないでこれからも頑張ってください。　太平洋をこえて、ニューヨークからいつも応援しています！

Japan Choral Harony "TOMO" finally visited Iitate Village in Fukushima on Oct. 11. 　We are all grateful to the people of Iitate Village to warmly welcome us despite the short notice. All people of the village have been evaculated from their hometown due to high level of radiation since the Fukushima Nuclear Plant disaster and scattered to many areas in Fukushima Prefecture (some are living even living outside of the prefecture). TOMO visited Iitate Middle School in Iino-cho, which was temporarily built for the students by renovating an pre-exsisted old building after the disaster.
The donation in the amount of 100,000 Yen collected during the 7th Circle Wind Concert in NY on Sep. 11 has been delivered to Mayor Kanno during the mini-concert, and an album specially made this time that includes about 20 haikus read by several students of PS4 Duke Ellington Elementary School was also delivered to the mayor by Yoshi Nagayama, the tour leader of TOMO. Thank you again, and we will continue to support the village whatever we can from now on.

Donation Delivered to Ishinomaki Terakoya!

The Tour of Japan Choral Harmony "TOMO" in Fukushima and Ishinomaki was a great success. We have received hearty welcome and huge applause by the members of Fukushima Mothers Chorus Association on Oct. 12. Then we had a wonderful time with them at the "after-glow" reception. Our donation in the amount of 100,000 Yen has been delivered to Nr, Kanno, mayor of Iitate-Mura, during our mini-concert.
Another donation in the amount of 100,000 Yen was also delivered to Ms. Ota of Ishinomaki "Terakoya"when we visited there on Oct. 13, 2014. We met young Kimura again there who did an excellent job during the concerts at Real Alcazar in Sevilla and Culture Center in Coria del Rio in Spain in May by reading Haiku poems to the Spanish audience.

合唱団JCH「とも」の福島・石巻公演は大成功でした！10月11日福島県飯舘村を訪問。ミニコンサートを通して交流を深めてきました。菅野村長に義援金10万を手渡すことができました。翌１２日は福島市音楽堂での合唱祭に特別参加。俳人黛まどかさんや地元のよい子たちも加わって会場を大いに盛り上げました。打ち上げの時に受けた熱い友情そしておもてなしは生涯忘れられないものとなりました。
１３日は石巻市に移動。寺子屋を訪問し、半年ぶりに太田さん、そして木村君と再会できました。5月にスペインのカルカサル宮殿、コリア市の文化センターで一緒にイベントに参加して以来の再会でした。太田さんにもNYの風の環コンサートの時に集まった義援金10万円を手渡しました。　木村君、そして皆さん、これからもがんばれ！

We thank you for your big contribution. During the concert we received the donation in the amount of $1,354.33 from the audience. Circle Wind NPO will match up the amount to this and will deliver the amount equally to Iidate-Mura in Fukushima and Ishinomaki "Terakoya" school in Miyagi next month.
