JCH「TOMO」 Sang Requiem for Innocent Victims in Ishinomaki at Together for 3.11

During the 5th Anniversary of Together for 3.11 Ceremony held on March 6, 2016, Japan Choral Harmony (JCH), 「Tomo」, was invited to sing Memorial Processional, a requiem written for the victims of 3.11 Tsunami in Japan. The song was especially dedicated to the 74 innocent young students of Okawa Elementary School of Ishinomaki City, Miyagi, who lost their lives during the disaster on March 11, 2011. The lyrics was written by Mike Shirota when he visited the school in April, 2012 and he finalized the piece as a mixed choir song with S, A, T, B voices after he came back home in NJ..
The piece was first performed by JCH at the 6th Circle Wind Concert in 2013 with the orchestration of Manhattan Symphonie Orchestra. Since then, it has benn performed several times, including the one at Carnegie Hall in October, 2013 and at Palace Alcazar, a world heritage in Seville, Spain in August, 2014.
