Coro Dabar Flying from Coria del Rio ! 

Coro Dabar, a choir based in Coria del Rio, Sevilla, Spain, will be participating the 10th Circle Wind Concert to be held on September 17, 2017 at Carnegie Hall, New York City. Coria del Rio is well known as a city where a Japanese diplomatic embassy headed by Tsunenaga Hasekura of Date Clan in Sendai first landed in 1614 before they officially met the king of Spain in Madrid and Pope in Rome. It is said that about 10 samurais left in this city refusing to come back to Japan. There are several hundreds of their descendants under the surname of Japon.

第10回風の環コンサート
日米合唱祭　　－支援の輪を未来に繋げようー

2008年から始まった風の環コンサートは今年で10周年を迎える。「支援の輪を未来に繋げよう」というテーマで節目のコンサートを行う。　場所：　カーネギーホール、、アイザック・スターン・オーディトーリウム。開演：　５：００ｐｍ、　開場：　４：３０ｐｍ
入場料：10ドル。

風の環コンサートは9.11同時多発テロの犠牲者の冥福を祈り、被災者を支援するというテーマで始まった。その後3.11東日本大震災の復興支援という新たな意義を加え回数を重ねてきた。10年という節目を迎え、今後に向けてさらに新たな意義を考える時期となっている。今年の合唱祭は、復興支援の想いを次世代に受け継いでもらい、音楽の持つ力が復興の支えになるという事を、合唱を志す若者たちに身をもって経験してもらい、犠牲者・被災者の気持ちに寄り添いつつ支援の想いを受け継いでほしいという期待を込めて企画した。
チャリティの対象としては、9.11テロや3.11津波で被災しながらも大学進学を志す若者たちへの奨学金を募ることを目標とした。奇しくも2017年は9.11テロより16年。当時生まれた子供は大学進学を志す年齢となった。3.11震災で被害にあった子供たちにしても進学という夢を実現するためには経済的な困難を克服しなければならない厳しい現実がある。このような若者たちへの支援の輪を繋げていくことを今後のテーマとしたいと考えている。

今回出演する東北大学男声合唱団および東北大学混声合唱団は、ともに伝統ある仙台の学生合唱団であるが、震災を経験し復興とともに歩んできた地元の大学合唱団として、今回のテーマである「音楽の持つ力と共に次世代に支援と助け合いの精神を引き継ぐ」若者たちの旗振り役として参加して参加する。

また、スペインのコリア・デル・リオ市からは「サムライの末裔」と言われるハポンさんもメンバーに加わるダバール合唱団を招待する。1613年、伊達政宗が派遣した慶長遣欧使節のの中で何人かが帰国せずにスペインに残ったとされているが、その子孫と言われている人がハポンという苗字を今も引き継ぐ。ハポンさんたちは震災後に復興を祈る俳句を石巻市に寄贈したり、日西文化交流活動の一環として石巻市や仙台市を訪問したり、さらには石巻市の合唱団「ぜっていまげね合唱団」が風の環コンサートに参加した際には、その応援にニューヨークまで駆けつけている。その他さまざまな日西親善と震災復興へ　NPO風の環コンサートを通して尽力してきた。

1948年に創設され、東海岸では随一のバーバーショップのグループとして知られるアレキサンドリア・ハーモナイザーズは、今回が二度目の風の環参加となり、チャリティ活動への理解も深い。総勢80人以上のメンバーが織りなす明るく力強いバーバーショップならではのパフォーマンスを披露してくれる。

風の環コンサートのホスト役であるJapan Choral Harmony「とも」は、今年春スペイン・イタリー親善演奏旅行を終え、3回目のカーネギー演奏会に備える。姉妹合唱団、風の環少年少女合唱団も今年はTogether for 311などの式典に参加、JCHと共にホスト役を担う。

Refreshing Friendship with Japon sans and Corianos 

What an exceptional and memorable trip we had in Coria del Rio, Spain and Rome/Civitavecchia, Italy !!
Reunion with Hasekura Japon sans in Coria was another excitement. Visiting the elementary school there, meeting boys and girls with big curiosity and singing in front of them were another experiences we encountered during this trip.
Finally we could say hello to Tsunenaga in Civitavecchia and met Maria in Kimoto at the Martyrs' Church there. And what a beautiful ocean we saw at the port of Civitavecchia! The same ocean that the delegation of Hasekura embassy saw 400 years ago! I believe we could share the excitement of Hasekura right before the meeting with Pope.

ミューズの夢コンサート　素晴らしかった！！ 

3月19日仙台の楽楽楽ホールにて、「ミューズの夢」15周年記念コンサートが開かれました
楽しそうな子供たちのパフォーマンスに感動でした。そしてその笑顔にとても癒されました。
フルオーケストラを目指してこれからも頑張ってください。
「ミューズの夢」は東北大学男声合唱団の初代指揮者；仁科博之先生のお嬢さん（仁科篤子さん）が2001年に設立したNPOです。
私どもNPO風の環コンサートは、その趣旨に賛同し応援しています。

当日楽屋にお邪魔した時の写真です。みんなもうすぐステージに上がる興奮と緊張が入り混じった表情をしていました。
15周年本当におめでとうございます。
