2017 Concert Now Supports Hurricane Harvey and Irma Victims.
Concert Summary:
~ Let's Extend Circle of Support to the Future ~
NPO 9.11 Circle Wind Memorial Concert will celebrate its 10th annual concert under the title of "Japan-US Chorus Festival;
Let's Extend Circle of Support to the Future".
The Circle Wind Concert was originally started to commemorate those who lost their lives during 9.11 tragedy, and since 2011 it was added the commemoration of 3.11 victims of the Great Eastern Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan. We recently heard another terrorist attack in Barcelona, Spain. Also Hurricane Harvey and Irma impacted Texas, Louisiana and Florida area with massive devastation. We would like to give a tribute to those who suffer from these recent human and natural disasters.
It is a milestone of the 10th anniversary this year and the concert enters into a new era to those who still suffer from the unforgettable disasters. This is why we give a special theme to the concert of passing down the supporting spirits onto next generation who will be learning the healing power of music as well as the supporting power of continuation that will be succeeded to the future.
Half of the donation raised during the concert will go to young survivors among 9.11 and 3.11 disasters who seek higher education. The year 2017 marks the 16th anniversary of 9.11 incident, and the children who were born then are reaching the age of college education. The Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011 also became a considerable obstacle for young victims looking for continuous or higher education. Under the new theme of "Let's Extend Circle of Support to the Future" we now enter into scholarship activities to keep supporting such young people struggling for continuous education.
Another half of the donation raised during the concert will go to JCC Fund of Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York. Through this Fund, the donated money will be sent to Americares for Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma relief.
Your donation will get maximum tax benefit as NPO 9.11 Circle Wind Memorial Concert is authorized by the IRS as a charitable non-profit organization under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3).
