Lunch Delivery Was Made by Volunteers from New York Japanese American Lions　Club ！！

We just received an email below from Ms. Riki Ito, Chairman of JALC with a number of photos taken during their volunteer work of delivering lunch to 2 hospitals of Mt. Sinai in Manhattan.

Saveサンファン世界ネットが発足しました！

石巻市の慶長使節船ミュージアムに展示されている「サンファン・バウティスタ号の復元船の保存を求める世界ネットワーク（Saveサンファン号世界ネット）」が結成されました。この復元船は伊達政宗公の命により1613年に建造された原船を原寸大で忠実に復元された木造船で1993年に1年半かけて400年前の資料をもとに建造されたもの。東日本大震災の大津波やその後の台風に耐え、地元では復興のシンボルとして愛されてきた。しかし県は老朽化を理由に修復を断念し今年中に解体し4分の１のプラスティック模型船に置き換えると決定している。
NPO法人9.11風の環コンサートは賛同者の一員として「Saveサンファン世界ネット」に加わっています。

1月27日から31日にかけて上記の意見広告が、読売、朝日、日経、石巻日日の各新聞に掲載されました。
地元の大手新聞である河北新報は、県の方針に従うとしてこの広告の掲載を拒否しました。
